Facebook Live: The Ottawa Hospital – L’Hôpital d’Ottawa

Keisha

The Ottawa Hospital has successfully started an online series of conversations with local community voices, Healthy Conversations.

We were invited to join other panelists to discuss the challenges and barriers that Black people face, and the need to guard and maintain good mental health. They will also discuss the importance of being intentional about self-care and discuss the importance of wellness in anti-racism work.

We had the pleasure to chat with these phenomenal Ottawa women in a conversation on Black Joy & Resilience:

  • Seyi Okuribido-, Malcolm, Director of Anti-Racism Implementation at DND
  • Suzanne Obiorah, Director of Gender and Race Equity, Inclusion, Indigenous Relations at City of Ottawa
  • Ellen Odai Alie, Manager, Cancer Program & Corporate Corporate Manager at The Ottawa Hospital
  • Suzan Richards, Founder and Arts Director, Cultural Arts Studio!!!

Suzan Richards kicked off the discussion with a beautiful stretch and I couldn’t think of a more fitting energy to lead this discussion.

That was a mouthful but, we were so honoured to chat and share this moment with them.
